BLUE MANTIS TIPI

The Blue Mantis Fabric was printed in 1995 as a deep psychedelic pattern, creating a fantasy world to disappear into. The Tipi form, gave the pattern gravity anchoring it and the viewer to the ground, whilst also creating a fully immersive experience when viewed from the inside. Looking up added to this experience as the Tipi creates a tunnel of psychedelic pattern accentuated by the tapering poles creating their own tunnel effect. This combination of physical anchoring and psychological freedom was the goal of this work.
